Where Hope Meets Skill: Our Journey at Astron Institute for Social Sciences

CSR

By Munmi Nath | CSR & Development Professional

A few months ago, I entered a classroom at our Multi-Skill Development Centre in Jajpur, Odisha. A young girl sat silently in the back row – hesitant, unsure, barely making eye contact. She had never imagined herself in a structured learning space, let alone speaking in front of others.

Weeks passed. One day, that same girl stood confidently before her peers, giving a clear presentation on lab procedures. Her posture had changed, her voice steady. That wasn’t just a student presenting — that was self-belief in motion.

At Astron Institute for Social Sciences (AISS), we see these stories every day. Our focus is on healthcare-based vocational training that turns underprivileged youth from rural and tribal areas into skilled, job-ready professionals -ready to contribute meaningfully to India’s healthcare system.

We currently run programs in:

  • Medical Lab Technology
  • Dialysis
  • Radiology
  • Mental Health & Life Skills

All designed for 12th-pass youth, and aimed at real employment outcomes.

The Role of CSR: Why We Need Corporate Partners

None of this transformation happens in isolation. With the support of CSR partners like Tata Steel Foundation, we’ve been able to create real, measurable change. But the need is vast – and the potential, even greater.

If your organization is seeking impact-driven CSR opportunities in skilling, rural development, and healthcare, we invite you to partner with us. Your support doesn’t just fund training – it changes lives, families, and futures.

Let’s collaborate to build a workforce that’s skilled, confident, and ready to serve.
